My career which I’m close to retiring from has been in the technical realm. I’ve always loved pottery but came to art later in life when my husband suggested I take a pottery class as an outlet from the technical work. I took my first classes at the Spruill Center for the Arts in Atlanta, GA and was hooked. I learned wheel throwing and glazing and have since gotten really excited about hand building and experimenting with texture.
STUDIO
I now have my own studio which we built as an addition behind our garage during Covid. I’ve had so much fun experimenting and finding tools to make interesting pieces.
INSPIRATION
• I’m an avid gardener so I take a lot of inspiration from my garden and plants and texture I find when walking in nature.
• I love watching pottery videos on You Tube for ideas
• I’ve been going to Art Fairs for decades which was my original inspiration
