Jason Kraus is the founding bladesmith of Northstar Forge, located in historic downtown Carver. A passion forged in fire, Kraus opened his forge in 2011, making custom knives and teaching others to do so as well through a variety of classes. He continued honing his craft, which eventually earned him the certification of Journeyman Smith through the American Bladesmith Society in 2022. Today, his chef knives can be found in hundreds of kitchens and his hunting knives have traveled the world, including the Arctic. He has also taught thousands of students and inspired many of them to continue forging their passion for making knives.
