My love of gemstones began during my childhood while hunting for agates and thomsonites on the north shore of Lake Superior. In the 1970’s I became hooked on glass too, and started collecting vintage and unusual beads while traveling.
I started making my own art glass beads, enhancing them with 22K gold and fine silver leaf, dichroic glass, and encasing. I find this layering of visual elements and making shapes and mixing colors to be very seductive.
I mindfully combine these colorful, beautiful shapes with hammered sterling, torched copper, quality gemstones, Austrian crystals and unique treasures I’ve collected while traveling the world.
While designing I focus on color, dynamic and interesting proportions, and balance. My goal is that in addition to being beautiful, my finished pieces are comfortable and durable.
