Excelsior based artist Neysa Winterer has been an artist at heart from her 1960’s elementary school days on. She is a proud grandmother to 7 lovely grandchildren and produces her art in her home based studio.

Neysa began her professional art career in Wacoina, MN at Unearthed Arts back in 2015.She has shown her work in galleries in Northeast Minneapolis at the Northrup King building and in the 50th and France area at Gallery 360 where she has grown significantly working with gallery owner Merry Beck.

Neysa has been working in torn paper collage since 2017. She discovered the art of torn paper collage online and quickly became excited to use this medium. The thing she loves the most about this technique is that she never really knows what will happen because of the uniqueness of each piece of paper.

Neysa is inspired by many kinds of subjects from landscapes to portraits, and recently has been influenced by artists from the 1800’s. She has had two major shows at Gallery 360 in Minneapolis recreating works of Vincet Van Gogh and Claude Monet all in torn paper!

Many people on viewing her artwork are stunned to find out that her works are made with paper and not oil paint.
