The most consistent thing in my life is change.  I have lived in 6 states plus Puerto Rico, and have lived at 15 different addresses just in Minnesota.  I have five majors from the University of Minnesota (Theatre, Speech, Communications, English and Education, just 3 credits short of a History major).  I taught 6 different subjects during my 7 years at Edina High School (would have been more if I had finished those last 3 History credits.   While I living in New York City, I bought a 35 acre farm in Watertown, MN which I didn’t see until just after the closing. While living in Denver I bought a restaurant in Waconia, MN.  My daughter and her husband, Chefs Laura and Paul, lived in the house.  Laura, Paul and my son Chris operated Nancy’s Landing. Upon returning to MN I joined my family at the farm and the restaurant.

It was my college Theatre major, which focused on costuming, that sparked my love for creating jewelry.  However, it wasn’t until my many years later return to Minnesota that my jewelry making love was rekindled.  Motivation from my good friend Cindy Prieve, at that time owner of Studio 56 in Waconia, encouraged me get serious about not only creating jewelry, but selling my creations. My style and the products I use for making jewelry have changed dramatically over time which comes as no surprise since “change” is my “consistency”.  It was when I began to work primarily with copper and brass that my daughter, Laura, was inspired to joined me in the company which I had incorporated and developed her own style of jewelry making.  We turned our “sun room” into a studio.  Now we share our love of jewelry creation, our sizeable work bench, our considerable number of tools and equipment, and our thousands of materials.  Our real reward is how our imaginations and our skills have developed beautifully together.
