I create paintings that explore the layering and masking process to create works that excite the eye and lead it in interesting ways. I strive to create exciting compositions of layering color inspired by artists of the op art movement such as Frank Stella and Bridget Riley. I want to emulate their optical progress in a contemporary fashion. My work also deals with the idea of the artistic process. The layering upon layering of miles of tape is often meditative, and the large dimensional works oftentimes take weeks to months to complete.

In addition to my work as a painter, I have also delved into the realms of clay, metal and printmaking to widen my experiences as an artist. I feel that no artist should be restrained to one medium.
