Each year has been a new discovery working with a selection of glazes over both white and dark clays. Although trained in wheel thrown pottery at Minnetonka Center for the Arts, I am experimenting with hand built pieces in which I hand carve designs or add sculptural aspects. Looking at a slab of clay as a canvas, affords many creative possibilities for my love of carving motifs of birds, bees, bunnies and blossoms. My hope is that people will enjoy my pieces as much as I enjoy making them. My work consists of totems, birdhouses, vases, bowls and other functional and decorative pieces.

Inspiration comes from the wild life in the gardens and lake that surround me, as well as vacations by oceans.  I am drawn to the color of water, so you will see a range of blues, aqua and greens on my pieces. I find these colors calming and soothing, much like time spent by water.  I live with my family, and our schnauzer on the lake where we a grateful for the beauty around us.
